TULSA, Okla. (KOKH) — Two people have been sentenced to life in prison following a murder investigation in Tulsa County.
On Dec. 21, 2024, officers with the Tulsa Police Department received a report that 40-year-old Juan Luviano was missing.
As police searched for him, they obtained evidence that foul play was suspected in his disappearance.
On Jan. 13, 2025, OSBI agents conducted a search of a wooded area near Spaniard Creek in Muskogee County.
Human remains were discovered and were positively identified as Luviano.
Based on the information from the investigation, authorities began searching for 23-year-old Maria Guadalupe and 20-year-old Irwin Medina.
Both were located and arrested on complaints of first-degree murder and conspiracy.
In March, Guadalupe and Medina pleaded guilty to Luviano's murder.
OSBI officials say both have been sentenced to life in prison for the murder.
