Jelly Roll is splitting from his wife Bunnie XO in this year’s latest celebrity breakup.
The singer and rapper, whose real name is Jason DeFord, filed for divorce from his wife, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, on May 18, USA TODAY reported. The couple had been married since 2016.
USA TODAY reached out to Jelly Roll and Bunnie’s representatives for comment. TMZ was first to report the news on June 15.
Here’s what to know about Jelly Roll’s divorce.
Yes, Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, filed for divorce from his wife Bunnie XO, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, on May 18, according to court records reviewed by USA TODAY on Monday, June 15.
The couple had been married since 2016, and their relationship included a brief split in 2018, an affair by Jelly Roll, and efforts to have children via IVF.
In her book “Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic,” which was published in February, Bunnie said she and Jelly Roll had found a surrogate and hoped to have twins.
“Now that we’re finally stable financially and somewhat emotionally after all the healing we’ve done over this decade together, we’re talking about the future — ­including growing our family,” she wrote. “We’re going to raise these babies in love and give them everything we were never given.”
Born Jason Bradley DeFord in Antioch, Tennessee, known professionally as Jelly Roll, he is an award-winning singer and rapper, per IMDb.
Alisa DeFord, known professionally as Bunnie XO, is a podcaster, the host of the “Dumb Blonde” podcast, discussing comedy, trends and lifestyle, per Apple Podcasts.
