Cher‘s son Elijah Blue Allman and his wife Marieangela King are calling off their divorce for a second time.
King, 38, submitted an official request to the Los Angeles Superior Court on June 2, asking that her petition to divorce Allman, 49, be dismissed, according to documents obtained by USA TODAY. This comes amid Allman’s recent legal issues, including multiple arrests earlier this year.
The pair, who wed in 2013, also retracted a previous divorce filing in 2024 before King refiled a year later citing “irreconcilable differences.” A judge awarded her $6,500 in temporary spousal support at the time.
Allman and King first split in April 2020, and she officially filed for a dissolution of marriage in November 2021. In January 2024, Allman requested the proceedings be dismissed.
“The couple have been working on their marriage and have reconciled,” a representative for King told USA TODAY at the time.
A judge initially denied the request because there were outstanding funds owed from a temporary support stipulation, but it was ultimately granted the following month. King had noted in her petition for divorce that she was having difficulty attending proceedings because of “sporadic and insufficient” spousal support payments from Allman.
Allman and King’s first rekindling coincided with his legal battle with mom Cher, 80, who was seeking to be the sole conservator of her son’s estate and resources due to his alleged “severe mental health and substance abuse issues,” according to court documents obtained by USA TODAY.
The singer said she had “worked tirelessly” to get Allman needed help, and claimed that he was unable to manage his financial assets. However, her efforts were denied.

In April, Cher attempted to gain temporary conservatorship again, this time nominating private fiduciary Jason Rubin to be Allman’s conservator. She specifically asked the court to allow Rubin to oversee Allman’s finances.
“Elijah’s situation has become dire on multiple fronts,” Cher’s attorney, Justin B. Gold, wrote in the filing. He added that Allman is currently staying at a psychiatric hospital in New Hampshire in light of his latests arrests for trespassing and assault in February and burglary in March.
“His mental health has severely deteriorated, his financial situation is terrible and his drug dependency is at its worst,” Gold continued. Cher “is requesting that this court enter an order appointing Mr. Rubin as temporary conservator of the estate so that Elijah’s situation can start being fixed one problem at [a] time.”
Her request was denied again.
