CASPER, Wyo. — Natrona County District Attorney Dan Itzen announced his intention to run for re-election in a letter to the media on Friday, April 24.
“I have the commitment and professionalism with results which reflect accountability and public safety,” Itzen said. “Knowledge with experience is how wisdom is made.”
Itzen was first elected to the position in 2018 and has been a prosecutor since with the office since 2000.
“During my career I have garnered extensive experience in prosecuting homicides, violent crime, child molestation and drug crimes,” Itzen said. “[These are] convictions that not only protect the innocent and punish the guilty, but advance case law through skilled prosecution.”
Itzen said he’s built an exceptional team of prosecuting attorneys that have helped secured high-profile convictions that advance public safety, and he identified juvenile delinquency as a priority issue for himself and other agencies.
“During this time, I have also teamed with law enforcement and the courts to implement the county’s first adult diversion program, which functions as a mental health court in our community.”
“As a resident of Natrona County and Wyoming, I have fostered respect for key Wyoming issues that include accountability, responsibility and the need to protect our community.”
