ELKINS – Woodlands Development & Lending is proud to announce recipients of its Spring Forward Small Business Grant Opportunity.
Officials received more than 80 proposals for this quick-turnaround, $500 grant and were able to make 22 awards to small businesses located throughout the Mon Forest Region of West Virginia.
Local food establishments, recreation outfitters, small farms, specialty trade contractors and more shared their proposals for what would help them market their products, streamline their processes or add new services. The recipients represent the diversity and wide variety of small businesses active in our economy.
“We’ve had an overwhelming response to this grant program, which tells us just how important small funding assistance like our Spring Forward Grant Opportunity are really beneficial in helping businesses take that next step towards growth,” said Marti Jefferson, Woodlands’ business advisor.
Wraparound support Woodlands provides can help address the challenges both startup and established businesses face in today’s marketplace.

Grant award recipients included Appalachian Alchemist, Allegheny Veterinary Service, PLLC, Mountain Gymnastics Academy, LLC, Mountain Table, LLC, Emerald Tree Boutique LLC, Mountain State Trail Supply, Maryland Line Farm LLC, Barnwood Living, Mountain Mist Painting, LLC, Pebble Nest Jewelry & Art, Acs Lounge LLC, Lyric Creative, McClumsy, Billy Operations LLC, Andrea S. Poling AC, Cherry Hill Country Club, Clementine’s Cantina, LLC, The Charm Farm, LLC, Stumptown Ales, Canaan Valley Flower Company, LLC, New Growth Tree Care, and Nevada Tribble Art, LLC.
Woodlands’ mission to assist nonprofit and for-profit businesses by providing access capital and technical assistance, pays dividends in communities across the 10-county Mon Forest Region; helping to provide a better quality of life and employment for residents while contributing to the overall recreation economy.
