TOWNSEND — Imagine settling into a quiet room, letting the stresses of the day fall away as soothing sounds and gentle vibrations create space for stillness and reflection. Brandy Lefsyk will bring this approach to wellness through a Reiki-Infused Sound Bath from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Townsend Public Library, 12 Dudley Road.
The session will combine sound healing, meditation and Reiki, a Japanese energy-healing practice that can be offered through gentle touch, with hands held near the body or through distance practice without physical contact.
“As the holiday season approaches, it is more important than ever to prioritize our nervous system,” Lefsyk said. “This Reiki-infused sound bath offers a sanctuary to release the accumulated stress of the year, helping us transition from the hustle of the holidays into a state of deep, restorative stillness.”
Sound baths use resonant tones and vibrations to create an immersive atmosphere that may help participants relax, quiet their minds and settle into a meditative state. The experience welcomes both newcomers to meditation and seasoned practitioners, offering an opportunity to slow down and turn their attention inward.
Lefsyk is the founder of HometownYogi, a holistic wellness approach that brings together modern movement science and traditional yoga practices. Drawing on her background in exercise science, physical therapy and functional movement, she helps students develop strength, awareness and resilience while fostering a deeper connection to themselves.
She earned degrees in exercise science and fitness leadership and in physical therapist assistant studies from Mount Wachusett Community College. Her additional training includes becoming a Usui Reiki master and completing Human Biomechanics Level 1 and Functional Patterns Level 1 training.
Lefsyk is also a yoga teacher, astrologer, channel and practitioner of emotional freedom technique, commonly known as tapping. She has taught movement and meditation practices since 2004.
Through HometownYogi, Lefsyk combines her understanding of biomechanics with the reflective practices of yoga and meditation. The sound bath extends that philosophy into a different experience, inviting participants to pause, listen and explore how sound and meditation can support relaxation and mindfulness.
