The Chief of the Judiciary announced that the United States and Israel must be prosecuted in international tribunals and compelled to pay reparations for committing “war crimes” and inflicting damage on Iran.
Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, during a meeting with a group of officials and heads of provincial justice departments, stated: “We will not let the aggressors go, and we will pursue their prosecution.”
Pointing to the processing of cases related to actions attributed to the U.S. and Israel, he added that final verdicts have already been issued in some of these cases.
In this regard, the Attorney General also announced the creation of numerous cases concerning what he termed the “crimes of the Zionist regime,” stating that these cases encompass matters such as the assassination of nuclear scientists. According to him, two special branches in the Tehran Prosecutor’s Office have been allocated to handle these files.
Hassan Abdolianpour, the head of the Judiciary’s Center for Lawyers, Official Experts, and Family Advisors, declared that more than 8,500 related cases have been reviewed, resulting in a compiled report spanning over 4,000 pages.
Furthermore, the Judicial Deputy to the Attorney General, while referring to the adjudication process, stated that these files are being examined in special branches and that various institutions are cooperating with the judicial apparatus in gathering evidence and finalizing documents.
He expressed hope that this process would lead to the issuance of verdicts in the near future, emphasizing that Iran is striving to align the documentation of these cases with international standards so that they can be effectively pursued abroad as well.
The judicial official also announced the registration of Iran’s complaint against the United States at the Hague-Abu Dhabi Arbitral Tribunal based on the provisions of the Algiers Accords, noting that this case remains active.
This is not the first instance of the Islamic Republic’s judiciary initiating such a complaint. Previously, Ali Salehi, the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Tehran, stated that the judiciary had issued indictments and arraignment orders against 73 U.S. citizens, including Donald Trump, Mike Pompeo, and Kenneth McKenzie, as “defendants” in the case concerning the killing of Qasem Soleimani.
Before that, the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran had announced the formation of cases and the issuance of indictments against U.S. officials, including Donald Trump and Mike Pompeo, in connection with various cases, legal actions whose international enforcement faces significant legal hurdles.
