Summary
The Kansai Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI-Kansai), in cooperation with Osaka Prefecture and Kyoto City, will hold the Kansai Life Science Tour on June 30, 2026.
About the Tour
METI-Kansai has strengthened exchanges with overseas organizations by leveraging the opportunity presented by Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
Through these efforts, it has become clear that interest in the Kansai region is increasing, especially in the life sciences field. There is also a growing need for opportunities to connect with companies and research institutions in Kansai.
Based on this background, the Kansai Life Science Tour will be held to build relationships that can lead to future collaboration and initiatives. The main target participants are representatives of chambers of commerce in Japan from G7 countries and related organizations.
During the tour, participants will visit key sites such as Nakanoshima Qross, a hub for regenerative medicine, and KENTO (Northern Osaka Health and Biomedical Innovation Town), a center for health and medical innovation. These visits will showcase the strengths and initiatives of the life sciences sector in Kansai in an integrated way.
In Kyoto City, the program will be held at KYOTO MOYASHI HOUSE, where company pitch sessions and networking events will take place. This will create opportunities for interaction between overseas organizations and Kansai companies.

Through this tour, we will promote relationship-building between overseas organizations and research institutions and companies in Kansai, with the aim of leading to future collaboration and investment.
