Plainsman Park is ready to host its second-straight NCAA Super Regional this weekend when the Auburn Tigers face SEC rival Ole Miss with a trip to the College World Series on the line.
The NCAA recently released the schedule for this weekend’s action, and ESPN followed suit by sharing the broadcasters who will tell the story of this year’s regionals.
A pair of familiar voices will call the action from the broadcast booth at Plainsman Park: Tom Hart and Todd Walker. Hart is a broadcast veteran who has covered many sports, including SEC baseball, for SEC Network and ESPN since 2014, while Walker, a former LSU baseball star, has spent time as an analyst since retiring from Major League Baseball in 2007. ESPN also announced that the trio of Matt Schick, Kris Budden, and Mike Rooney will serve as studio hosts.
The Auburn Tigers earned their second-straight NCAA Super Regionals bid by defying the unfavorable odds of winning four games over three days after dropping their regional opener to Milwaukee. Ole Miss caught magic in Nebraska by sweeping the Lincoln Regional after dropping its lone SEC Tournament game to Missouri, a team that failed to make the NCAA Tournament.
Game one of the Auburn Regional between the Auburn Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels is set for 7 p.m. CT on Friday on ESPN 2, with game two scheduled for 5 p.m. CT on Saturday on ESPN. The Auburn Sports Network will also handle the radio call of this weekend’s Auburn Super Regional.
Time and TV network information for the if-necessary game three of the Auburn Regional on Sunday will be announced at a later date.
