Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS picks
Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the May 26, 2026 MLB DFS slate.

Happy Tuesday! We’ve got a 10-game slate that appears to have a small – but clear – top tier for both pitching and hitting. It also looks extremely muddled all over the place after those top tiers, but we’ll see if we can find any favorites hiding in there somewhere. The MLB weather looks nice for a change, so we shouldn’t have anything to worry about on that front. Let’s jump right in and see what we find.

Schlittler of the Yankees
TOP TIER PITCHING
We start with four aces who all have SIERAs between 2.73 and 3.23 this season, and all of them have clear upside in their skill sets.
All four of these pitchers have fantastic skill sets that can succeed in any matchup. They all have enough strikeout upside to hit ceiling games at any time, and it would take an outlier for any of them to get shelled. While I love them all, I think it’s fairly easy to put Joe Ryan down in 4th place. He is less of an elite ace against lefties, where he again has a 23% strikeout rate (23.4% strikeout rate last season) with power concerns, and he’s likely to face 7 lefties tonight. He’s certainly playable but is a step behind these other three.
I would say that Cam Schlittler is the ace that I have the most confidence in, but he also has the toughest matchup of the aces, and he’s the most expensive on both sites. Matchup doesn’t really matter all that much for him, but it does dampen his ceiling a bit.
For me, Chase Burns is my SP1, and Kyle Harrison is my SP2, though you could flip that order if you wanted based on how good Harrison has been pitching. We’ve seen big ceiling performances from Harrison in 2 of his last 5 starts, with 12 strikeouts on April 26th (against the Pirates) and 11 strikeouts on May 20th (at the Cubs). However, he’s also been quite inconsistent with those strikeouts, and Burns still has the higher SwStr% and the better pedigree. Basically, it’s a little surprising to see Harrison at a 32.2% K rate, while Burns’ 28.2% K rate feels more like the floor. When I look at the matchups, while it’s better to face the Cardinals with a lefty like Harrison, they are still better than the Mets. I think we’re all better than the Mets. The Mets rank dead last in the league in ISO and wOBA against RHP and basically have one hitter of any real consequence. Meanwhile, the Cardinals have really lowered their strikeouts and have only 3 high-strikeout bats in their projected lineup. All of this is enough for me to go with Burns as my top pitcher on the slate.
But again, all four of these aces are great, and you can play any of them in any order. Ideally, I’d start my lineups with a Burns/Harrison combo on DK.

One of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has won contests at the highest levels of both season-long and DFS. He is a 2x winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize in DFS, having won the 2014 FanDuel baseball Live Final and following that up by taking down a DraftKings Milly Maker Tournament in 2015. In addition, he’s won the Main Event championship in the National Fantasy Baseball Championship and the NFBC Platinum League, which is the highest buy-in entry league. His consistent success in the NFBC tournaments earned him a prestigious spot in their Hall of Fame. Dave can also strum a mean guitar while carrying a tune, and if you’re lucky, you’ll see him do so on one of his MLB Crunch Time appearances. Follow Dave on X – @DavePotts2
