On Tuesday afternoon, the Atlanta Braves will continue their series with the Miami Marlins at LoanDepot Park in Florida.
The Braves are coming off a 12-0 loss on Monday night.
Drake Baldwin finished with one hit and one walk.
However (before Tuesday’s game), the Braves have now announced an injury update on the 2025 National League Rookie of The Year.
The Braves wrote (via X): “The #Braves today selected C Chadwick Tromp to the major league roster and placed C Drake Baldwin on the 10-day injured list with a strained right oblique muscle.”

Here’s what people were saying on social media:
Jesús Cano: “One day after Ronald Acuña Jr. was activated off the injured list, Drake Baldwin gets sideline with a strained right oblique muscle. Braves just can’t catch a break with injuries to their top players.”
@TalkinBaseball_: “Drake Baldwin is going on the injured list with an oblique strain. The 2025 Rookie of the Year hadn’t missed a game this season and was hitting .303 with 13 home runs and a .931 OPS”
Just Baseball: “The Braves are placing Drake Baldwin on the 10-day IL with a strained right oblique muscle, per a team announcement. A tough blow for the reigning NL ROY.”
@scottcoleman55: “Not that there was much doubt, but looking back at the play it’s pretty obvious that Drake was in some discomfort as he went down the line on the ball he lined to right in the 6th. It’s a quick cutaway but he felt something”
@CurtMWeiler: “Losing Drake Baldwin right as Ronald Acuña comes back is a cruel twist of fate for the Braves. He had been on an unbelievable run to start this season.”
@LonestarMoney: “Hopefully this is something with Baldwin that just clears itself up in 10 days”
