Don’t even mention Herbert Hoover, who was crushed by the Great Depression, or James Madison, who declared war on Great Britain even though Madison had no army.
“Yeah, I knew I forgot something,” Jamey purportedly said to Dolley as she tried to save the White House furniture from the marauding Brits marching down Pennsylvania Avenue.
Now, President Trump finds himself in a dicey spot.  Prices for essential stuff are on the rise, hammering working folks and our adversaries around the world are sensing blood.  Those adversaries include the American media.
The Chinese will provide dancing girls and Beijing walkarounds with the President, but are really gaming the system as they usually do. The communists want Taiwan as well as lucrative trade deals. They are not willing to give much back.
The nutty Mullahs in Iran believe the USA will cave on the nukes, so why do anything? They pray five times daily, eat some pita bread, and execute dissenters.  Full day.
Putin continues to murder Ukrainian civilians for nothing. Word is his body is swelling up, and he can’t even go out to dinner for fear of being assassinated.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration is trying to figure it all out.  Lots of incoming. The president remains confident the USA will prevail.  However, Democrat Hakeem Jeffries is trying on new speaker of the house suits.
Nobody knows what Senator Charles Schumer is doing in the Senate because Schumer himself doesn’t know unless some staffer writes something down so he can read it.
Putin and Xi must be salivating at the prospect that Jeffries and Schumer may be in charge next year.
If they go to Beijing, there will only be one dancing girl and day-old dim sum.
At this point, President Trump must get a few wins.  He can’t be the Mets racking up two singles every game.  Mr. Trump’s swagger has been in the dugout for a few weeks now.  That has to change.
Or else Hakeem and Chuck will ascend. That will lead to “a party on” display for our adversaries.  Perhaps some sailing in the Hormuz.
The November vote is coming up fast. And the totalitarians know it.  Let the festivities begin.
