PANAMA CITY— Government vehicles and equipment are set to be auctioned off in Panama City.
The city is working with the Florida Auction Network to hold a surplus auction. The live auction is set to take place on May 9 at 9 a.m. at 3847 Business Highway 98.
Readers can find the catalogue for the live auction at FlAuctionNetwork.hibid.com.
There is also an online auction with a deadline of May 13. Readers could make bids on lucrative items by visiting AuctionTime.com and searching for “Florida Auction Network LLC.”
“These auctions feature items from City of Panama City, Talquin Electric Co-Op, Walton County Sheriff Office, Bay County TPO, and others,” a release from the city said.
According to the live auction catalogue, a firetruck, a garbage truck, several municipal buses and a decommissioned street sweeper are among the vehicles set to be auctioned. Some of the other items offered include trailers, construction equipment and riding lawnmowers.

The online auction catalogue is only composed of vehicles and includes an ambulance. The current bids appear to be far below sticker price, with a $700 bid on a fire truck as of May 5.
“Government auctions give the public a fair shot at valuable assets, help get the best return for taxpayers, and keep the process transparent, ensuring nothing goes to waste and everyone benefits,” a Panama City spokesperson previously told the News Herald.
A flier provided by the city shows that there is a 13% buyers’ premium and a 3% discount for cash and checks.
