THE 2026 MET GALA is here. Following the announcement of this year’s ‘Costume Art’ theme, a teaser in the ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ and a weekend of celebrity spotting in New York City, the Met Gala is finally underway.
This year’s ‘Fashion is Art’ dress code draws inspiration from the Costume Institute archive and the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s collection of Western art. By presenting the two artistic forms together, the evening will showcase the relationship between fashion and the human form. Expect to see Grecian gowns, draped details and falling fabric as carved into The Winged Victory of Samothrace. Or to make Met Gala history, guests may dare to take notes from Michelangelo’s David and his bare skin.
Leading the guest list on the star-studded steps are co-chairs Beyoncé – who returns for the first time since 2016 – Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams. Newly engaged Zoë Kravitz and Saint Laurent creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, are committee co-chairs and will be supported by Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Alex Consani, Teyana Taylor and more.
