ST. JOSEPH, Ind. (WNDU) – St. Joseph County officials passed a resolution Monday expanding who can work the primary election.
The county is down about 40 poll workers for May 5, according to our reporting partners at the South Bend Tribune.
Officials said party office candidates and their family members are now eligible.
The Indiana law requires equal numbers of republican and democratic workers.
There are more democrats than republicans signed up. Officials said republican redistricting has made recruiting harder.
You must be a registered St. Joseph County voter and at least 18 to participate.
