Jay Cutler’s first beverage innovation under his supplement company, Cutler Nutrition, is here, after getting a preview about a week ago. We initially thought the product was called Aminos, although it turns out it’s Amino5, which links back to the amount of actual amino acids you get per can. Convenient items like foods and drinks are a huge step for any brand that has religiously stuck to traditional supplements, and they open up the potential for more innovation in that direction.
Cutler Nutrition’s Amino5 indeed comes with 5g of the three all-important branched-chain amino acids in a 12oz can, with some hydration support in there too, albeit in a less significant amount of a combined 370mg of electrolytes. The ready-to-drink product brings together the recovery power of BCAAs and performance and endurance from electrolytes, without any sugar and only a gram of carbohydrates, leading to a guilt-free calorie count of five across its two flavors.
While there have been two flavors announced and unveiled for Cutler Nutrition’s entry into the beverage space, with Sparkling Grape and Sparkling Lemonade, only one of them is available on launch. The current option in stock for the BCAA and electrolyte-powered Amino5 drink is the sweet Sparkling Grape. You can snatch up a case of the beverage through the brand’s online store at $34.99, which works out to $2.91 per can, or subscribe to receive Amino5 regularly and get 15% off.
