GARNER, Ia. — The Wright County Broncos boys soccer team returned to action on Thursday night, as they made the short jog up Highway 69 to take on the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Cardinals in North Central Conference action at GHV High School. The Broncos entered at 6-0-1, while GHV entered at 4-1-1.
The first half of the opening frame was scoreless, but that changed in the 18th minute as Jorge Luis Guzman scored his 10th goal of the year to put the Broncos ahead 1-0. Luis Guzman then added onto his total later in the half, scoring on a fastbreak once more as Wright County led 2-0 at the halftime break. The Broncos then struck early in the 2nd half off a goal from senior Anir Akdim as the goal put Wright County up for good at 3-0.
Wright County boys soccer returns to action on Tuesday, as they travel to Hampton to take on Hampton-Dumont-CAL in North Central Conference action with kickoff at 5:30 PM.
