As Macon-Bibb County recognizes National Community Development Week (April 6–10), the upcoming episode of Macon It dives into the work happening behind the scenes to strengthen our community.
In this episode, we sit down with Wanzina Jackson, Director of the Economic & Community Development Department, to break down what the department does and how it impacts residents every day.
From working on programs like the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership to supporting housing, neighborhood revitalization, and community services, the department plays a key role in making sure resources reach the people who need them most.
Jackson shares how the work goes beyond funding, it’s about building stronger neighborhoods, creating opportunities, and improving quality of life across Macon-Bibb.
