Former Colts chief personnel executive Morocco Brown has been hired by Wisconsin as the football program’s general manager, according to a report from ESPN. Colts GM Chris Ballard, a Wisconsin alum, was a member of the Badgers’ search committee.
Brown left the Colts in June of 2025 and had previously worked with Cleveland, Washington and Chicago in the NFL. He had several interviews for NFL general manager roles, including with Atlanta, Chicago and Pittsburgh. Brown joined the Colts with Ballard in 2017 and was named chief personnel executive in 2022.
He was also instrumental in the scouting process that led to the team using the No. 4 pick of the 2023 NFL draft on quarterback Anthony Richardson.
Brown saw Richardson early and championed the quarterback during the draft process.
Brown spent his first five seasons with the Colts as the team’s director of college scouting before being promoted to chief personnel executive, a role that required him to do more work on the pro scouting side as one of Ballard’s top assistants.
