This week on “In Focus,” we explore new laws relating to PFAS in Wisconsin.
PFAS, or “forever chemicals,” have been an ongoing issue for the state for a number of years. Communities have been working to get these chemicals out of their water, but debates over funding have stalled in Madison until this year. New legislation was signed into law earlier this month, aimed at starting the cleanup and restoration process.
Doug Oitzinger serves on the Board of Directors for the group Save Our H-2-0. He also serves on the Marinette City Council. Oitzinger joined Spectrum News 1 to discuss PFAS issues in his community and what he hopes the new legislation will do to address it in communities all across the state.
