Naomi Moon Siegel is a Missoula-based jazz trombonist and composer with a distinctive creative voice: daring and experimental without being overly dissonant or unnecessarily quirky. She\u2019s got a new group called Constellation of Nows (including notable Seattle guitarist Andy Coe), and they\u2019ll be at the Odd Fellows Temple Room on Thursday, April 23. 
The Lincoln Theatre is about to celebrate its 100th anniversary. There\u2019s a great show on Friday the 24th with Savanna Woods and the Chris Eger Band, but the event I think is even cooler is the showcase they\u2019re doing on Saturday, April 25. It\u2019s a tribute to the theater\u2019s roots in vaudeville, with a series of widely varied short acts throughout the evening. You get jazz, juggling, dance, musical theater, sketch comedy, ventriloquism from Buddy Mac<\/a>, and even a bit of opera. That\u2019s a way of presenting entertainment that you just don\u2019t see anymore and it should make for a pretty special evening.\u00a0
There\u2019s a sort of next-generation alt-country resurgence happening right now, and North Carolina\u2019s Wednesday is one of the bands leading the charge. Its 2025 album Bleeds<\/a> was a critics\u2019 favorite, mixing gentle twang with bursts of wild shoegaze-style distortion. Singer Karly Hartzman\u2019s voice may not be for everyone but she\u2019s a compelling performer who leaves it all on the stage. They\u2019re coming to WWU\u2019s Viking Union with openers Gouge Away on Sunday, April 26, and I\u2019m honestly a little surprised that tickets are still available<\/a>.\u00a0
One of Bellingham\u2019s fun musical traditions is the Band Lottery that\u2019s been going on for years now. Thirty or so bold participants sign up, then are randomly assigned to bands with strangers, and have three weeks to write a couple original songs before performing on a big stage. The results are unpredictable and strange in all the best ways, and often shockingly good. This year\u2019s participants are rehearsing now, for a performance that happens Sunday, April 26 at the Wild Buffalo, with proceeds benefiting Make.Shift.\u00a0<\/p>\n
