(WACH) \u2014 <\/span>The South Carolina Department of Public Health reported no new measles cases since Tuesday, keeping the total tied to an Upstate outbreak at 997.<br \/>Health officials say two people remain in quarantine, with no one currently in isolation. The latest quarantine period is expected to end on March 28.<br \/>A measles outbreak can be declared over after 42 consecutive days with no new cases, which is twice the virus\u2019s 21-day incubation period and signals that transmission has stopped, according to health officials.<br \/>DPH continues to emphasize vaccination as the most effective way to prevent measles and limit the spread of the disease. <br \/>Vaccines are available through primary care providers, pharmacies, and local health departments.<br \/>Data from the outbreak shows most cases have been among school-aged children.
