The Atlantic reported Friday that the Trump Kennedy Center had offered the ‘Real Time’ comedian the prestigious honor, but the White House calls it “fake news.”

\tBreaking news: HBO<\/a>‘s Real Time<\/em> host Bill Maher<\/a> will not <\/em>be receiving this year’s Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, the prestigious comedy award handed out each year by The Kennedy Center.
\tHowever, The Atlantic <\/em>reports <\/a>that Maher was offered the award from the institution now called the Trump Kennedy Center … before the White House intervened to stop it.
\t“This is fake news. Bill Maher will NOT be getting this award,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>. <\/p>\n
