Thomas Road, Phoenix<br \/>Through the summer months, Mount of Olives Lutheran Church continues its faithful response to growing hunger in Arizona. Each week, the congregation serves nearly <strong>300 family units<\/strong> through its Olive Branch Food Closet\u2014meeting an urgent and increasing need in the community.<br \/>The public is invited to gather for <strong>Jazz Vespers on Sunday, July 12 at 5:30 PM<\/strong>, featuring <strong>Beth Lederman and guest musicians<\/strong>. This ongoing <strong>\u201cMusic for Food\u201d ministry<\/strong> blends worship, music, and service in support of those experiencing food insecurity.  <br \/>With the continued impact of SNAP benefit losses across the state, ministries like this remain essential. Jazz Vespers offers a space to reflect, reconnect, and respond\u2014grounded in faith and expressed through community action.<br \/>The evening includes live jazz in a contemplative worship setting, followed by fellowship and light refreshments. It is both a spiritual gathering and a tangible way to support the work of feeding neighbors in need.<br \/>What began decades ago as a small effort serving a few families has grown into a significant ministry, now partnering with St. Mary\u2019s Food Bank and Waste Not to serve hundreds each week.  <br \/>In a time of increasing need, this ministry continues to embody the Lutheran commitment to serve the neighbor.
