Comedian and actor Mickey Gooch Jr., who was famously named<\/a> in Rebel Wilson’s autobiography as the man she lost her virginity to at age 35, found himself inadvertently involved in a skit reading Wilson’s sex confessions aloud on a Broadway stage.
Appearing at a recent performance of the Celebrity Autobiography show \u2014 a comedy revue featuring a rotating cast of celebrities performing verbatim readings of other stars’ memoirs \u2014 at New York City’s Shubert Theatre, Gooch was introduced by fellow comedian Kathy Griffin.<\/p>\n

There was just one catch: He was not told ahead of time he had been booked to read excerpts from Wilson’s memoir \u2014 specifically <\/em>the ones in which he was called out as her first lover.<\/p>\n

After Gooch stepped on stage, Griffin began to read from “Rebel Rising,” choosing the chapter titled “Late Bloomer.” In that chapter, Wilson detailed meeting Gooch and their initial dates before building up to the main event. <\/p>\n

“Micks, I know this might be news to you if you are reading this, but yes, I lost my virginity to you,” Griffin orated. “And a great shag you were.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gooch, for his part, kept his cool admirably, ad-libbing humorously and interjecting into Griffin’s reading with extra details. After Griffin’s “great shag” comment, he let out a loud “Ayyy!” and punched the air comically, to the audience’s amusement.
The performance was one of the last shows of the hugely successful Celebrity Autobiography show and marked Gooch’s first time on a Broadway stage. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a pretty surreal way to make my Broadway debut,\u201d Gooch said of the surprise sprung upon him. \u201cI guess I popped my Broadway cherry, literally.”
Wilson, 46, dated Gooch, 41, for a few months in 2015, and at the time they were\u00a0seen acting cozy and \u201cvery cuddly\u201d<\/a> toward each other on a dinner date in Manhattan.
The two had met while working on the 2016 film “How to Be Single.”
They split amicably in September of that year, with a source telling Us Weekly<\/a>, \u201cIt\u2019s been hard for him. They\u2019re still friends, so you never know if they might get back together.\u201d
In February 2023, Wilson confirmed she got engaged<\/a> to jewelry designer Ramona Agruma<\/a>. The couple exchanged vows in a romantic ceremony in Italy<\/a> in September 2024, and are now parents to two daughters. <\/a>
