The Agency<\/em>'s Jodie Turner-Smith exclusively shared with E! News that she and daughter Juno, 6\u2014whom she shares with ex Joshua Jackson\u2014will be traveling and celebrating her 40th birthday this summer.
Jodie Turner-Smith<\/strong><\/a> has the scoop on her summer plans.<\/span>
With her 40th birthday around the corner on Sept. 7, the <\/span>Agency<\/span><\/em> star plans to kick off the celebrations early alongside her and ex-husband <\/span>Joshua Jackson<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s 6-year-old daughter, <\/span>Juno<\/strong>.<\/span>
\u201cI will be celebrating starting from June 1,\u201d Turner-Smith exclusively shared with E! News\u2019 <\/span>Will Marfuggi<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cSummertime we can do the traveling. My daughter's not in school. That's the time when we get to do all of our fun things.\u201d<\/span>
Turning 40 felt especially important for Turner-Smith as she\u2019s not only celebrating her birthday, she\u2019s celebrating where she is at this moment in her life.\u00a0<\/span>
\u201cI feel like I look better than I've ever looked. I feel better than I've ever looked. I'm like, I just keep getting better,\u201d the 39-year-old said. \u201cI\u2019m doing better. I\u2019m getting to do work that I've dreamed of\u2014work with incredible people.\u201d<\/span>
She added, \u201cThis is a celebration.\u201d<\/span>
And it\u2019s always a celebration with Juno, whom Turner-Smith credits with helping her push aside some of the more difficult aspects of shooting season two of the <\/span>Agency<\/span><\/em>\u2014especially as her character goes through some harrowing ordeals this season.<\/span>
\u201cI\u2019m a mum,\u201d she explained to E!<\/span>, \u201cso<\/span> that is a part of existence.\u201d<\/span>
\u201cIf your brain is working as it needs to\u2014and there's not anything chemically imbalanced to prevent you from being able to\u2014I think it's a very natural instinct, in the same way that a fight or flight is an instinct. Your instinct is to protect your child and your child's well-being,\u201d Turner-Smith noted. \u201cIt\u2019s just two totally different worlds. Going home to my daughter is nothing like spending 10, 12 hours inside of a Moroccan prison cell.\u201d<\/span>
Despite the sometimes stressful nature of her work<\/span>\u2014including on the Paramount+ thriller\u2014<\/span>the <\/span>Tron: Ares<\/span><\/em> star has always felt it\u2019s important to have Juno on set with her whenever she\u2019s able to.<\/span>
\u201cThat's honestly the best part of it," Turner-Smith <\/span>told E! News in October<\/span><\/a>. "Not just my little one. One of the most amazing things about this job and this career is that I can share the amazing things I'm doing with my family."<\/span>
\u201cIt\u2019s important for a young girl to see her mother, a woman, living her dreams and loving that, and loving her job," the <\/span>Queen & Slim<\/span><\/em> star continued. \u201cI think it's important for little girls to see women being fulfilled. And that's all I choose to model for my daughter, fulfillment."<\/span>
As for whether Juno might follow in her parents\u2019 acting footsteps? "I mean, who knows what she'll do,\u201d Turner-Smith admitted. \u201cThe world is absolutely her oyster."<\/span>
The Agency<\/span><\/em> season two premieres June 21, with all 10 episodes available on Paramount+.<\/span>
