The crash hit Moore, who had been on his way home from picking up his partner and niece from the airport.
Because of the crash, he now has permanent vision loss in his right eye and an ongoing arm injury.
“No one expects to pick up their loved ones from the airport and be right around the corner from home and have something as bizarre as an escaped inmate crashing into them. So it still feels very fresh, even though it was six months ago, but it’s something that I’m actively dealing with now,” Moore said. “And it was the text that said you good that kind of kept me through, people checking in with me. So that’s kind of what it was, what it was inspired by.”
Those text message led Moore to start yougoodatl.com. The website is plastered on downtown billboards he created as a campaign to encourage people to call the hotline to share memories, happy or sad thoughts, celebrations, even concerns.
“To see this coming to fruition feels like the glimmer of hope that I needed,” Moore said.
Moore said that participants consent to have their voices on the website and billboards, with a disclaimer that the site and phone number are not a mental health crisis hotline.
“The idea is to allow people to express themselves, say whatever you want, the good, the bad, the ugly. Did you have a bad day? Did you have a good day? Did you, you want to share some good news? You know, so that’s what it’s all about. You good?” Moore said.
Moore collaborated with Downtown Atlanta Inc. for the campaign to have this run in time for the World Cup.
Program manager of Art & Activation for Downtown Atlanta Inc., Nina Dolgin, said, “We created this interactive campaign with Hommeboy to check in on the people of Downtown. Whether it’s an office worker heading home for the day, a soccer fan on their way to a game, or anyone else walking our streets, we’re glad they chose to be Downtown.”
“There’s been so many different kinds of calls, so that’s been really fun,” Moore said. “This has been a positive and really optimistic project, and you know, something that brought light out of darkness.”
Phase two of the campaign rolls out June 8, when you will see the recordings people have left on the website.
The billboards will be up until August.
“It’s a pivotal time, so call the hotline and express yourself, because I think expressing yourself is the only thing that will stand the test of time during this time that we’re in,” Moore said, “So, it’s a beautiful moment for Atlanta, and you know, we just all need to continue to spread the love and show the world what Atlanta is about.”
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, call the national hotline at 988.
Copyright 2026 WANF.
