If these crimes continue, we will not only suspend the negotiation process, but we will also stand against the Zionist regime,\u201d Ghalibaf said, <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/irna_1313\/412156\" target=\"_blank\">according to the state-owned Islamic Republic News Agency<\/a>. \u201cIf an agreement is reached to end the war between Iran and the United States, it will include a halt to attacks on all fronts, especially in Lebanon.\u201d<br \/>Iran\u2019s Foreign Affairs Ministry also said in a statement Monday that the U.S. \u201cbears direct responsibility both for the violations of the ceasefire against Iran and for the violations committed by the Zionist regime against Lebanon.\u201d<br \/>President Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/116676034049614301\" target=\"_blank\">wrote Monday afternoon on Truth Social<\/a> that he had spoken to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and representatives from Hezbollah. He said no troops would go to Beirut. <br \/>\u201cI had a very productive call with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel, and there will be no Troops going to Beirut, and any Troops that are on their way, have already been turned back,\u201d he wrote. \u201cLikewise, through highly placed Representatives, I had a very good call with Hezbollah, and they agreed that all shooting will stop \u2014 That Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel.\u201d<br \/>Trump posted about the issue again <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/116677048828976704\" target=\"_blank\">on Truth Social<\/a> later in the day.<br \/>\u201cI had a conversation with Bibi Netanyahu today, asking him not to go into a major raid of Beirut, Lebanon. He turned his Troops around. Thank you Bibi!\u201d he wrote. \u201cI also had a conversation with Representatives of the Leaders of Hezbollah, and they agreed to stop shooting at Israel, and its soldiers. Likewise, Israel agreed to stop shooting at them. Let\u2019s see how long that lasts \u2014 Hopefully it will be for ETERNITY!\u201d<br \/>The Lebanese Embassy in Washington <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/lbpresidency\/status\/2061521844797050909?s=46&#038;t=tVc4Vo-omv6F2hrEpddh9g\" target=\"_blank\">noted in a statement<\/a> Wednesday afternoon that Hezbollah had accepted the terms of a U.S. proposal \u201cfor a mutual cessation of attacks.\u201d<br \/>\u201cUnder the proposed arrangement, Israeli strikes on Beirut\u2019s southern suburbs would cease in exchange for Hezbollah refraining from attacks against Israel,\u201d the embassy said. \u201cThe ceasefire would then be expanded to encompass all Lebanese territory.\u201d<br \/>The embassy also said that Trump had contacted the Lebanese ambassador to the U.S. to tell her that Netanyahu had agreed to the arrangement.<br \/>Netanyahu later <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/netanyahu\/status\/2061531248573460655\" target=\"_blank\">posted on X <\/a>that the Israel Defense Forces would strike Beirut if Hezbollah attacks do not stop.<br \/>\u201cI spoke this evening with President Trump and told him that if Hezbollah does not stop attacking our cities and civilians, Israel will strike terrorist targets in Beirut,\u201d Netanyahu wrote. \u201cThis remains our position. At the same time, the IDF will continue operating as planned in southern Lebanon.\u201d<br \/>Ebrahim Azizi, the head of the Iranian Parliament\u2019s national security commission, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Ebrahimazizi33\/status\/2061506484677042635\" target=\"_blank\">said on X<\/a> that continued attacks in Lebanon could lead to a military response from Iran.<br \/>\u201cIf the attacks against Lebanon do not stop completely, the consequences will be severe for the Zionist regime and U.S. forces in the region,\u201d Azizi wrote. \u201cThey are fully aware that this is not an empty threat, and we are prepared for a military response.\u201d<br \/>Trump also <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/116676087445077253\" target=\"_blank\">claimed on Truth Social<\/a>, without evidence, \u201cTalks are continuing, at a rapid pace, with the Islamic Republic of Iran.\u201d<br \/>Trump earlier told NBC News that he was not informed of the decision to suspend negotiations ahead of time but that \u201cI think it\u2019s fine if they\u2019re done talking.\u201d<br \/>\u201cIt\u2019s an appropriate thing to say, because they\u2019re better negotiators than they are fighters,\u201d he said in a brief phone call. \u201cBut they haven\u2019t informed us of that.\u201d<br \/>\u201cIt doesn\u2019t mean we\u2019re going to go and start dropping bombs all over there,\u201d added Trump, who said Friday he would soon decide on a proposed deal to extend an ostensible ceasefire agreed to in early April. \u201cWe\u2019ll keep the blockade.\u201d<br \/>He added: \u201cIf they don\u2019t want to talk, that\u2019s OK with me. I think it\u2019s fine. I don\u2019t particularly want to talk, either. We talk too much.\u201d<br \/>Tasnim earlier reported that Tehran would consider a full closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial shipping route that carried a fifth of the world\u2019s oil supply before the war, and choking other waterways, including the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, with the aim of punishing Israel and its supporters.<br \/>Esmail Ghaani, the head of the Quds Force, the branch of Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that operates outside of the country\u2019s borders, said Monday that continued Israeli operations in Lebanon and Gaza would lead the \u201cAxis of Resistance,\u201d the group of regional militias allied with Iran, to block the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.<br \/>The armed groups would \u201ctake action to activate other fronts and make the traffic situation in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait comparable to that of the Strait of Hormuz,\u201d Ghaani said in comments Iranian state TV <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/iribnews\/342576\" target=\"_blank\">posted on Telegram<\/a>.<br \/>Oil prices surged more than $6 per barrel following Tasnim\u2019s report.<br \/>The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/world\/middle-east\/us-says-struck-iranian-drone-radar-sites-iran-claims-attack-air-base-rcna347809\" target=\"_blank\"> U.S. military and Iran exchanged strikes<\/a> over the weekend and into Monday, the latest outburst of violence amid the truce.  <br \/>Despite the truce, Israel has been pressing ahead with a military <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/world\/middle-east\/israeli-troops-push-deeper-lebanon-two-sides-start-military-talks-pent-rcna347635\" target=\"_blank\">offensive in Lebanon<\/a>, with its forces marking their deepest incursion into the country in 26 years over the weekend. On Monday, Netanyahu <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/world\/middle-east\/lebanon-israel-netanyahu-attacks-beirut-southern-suburbs-rcna347824\" target=\"_blank\">ordered attacks on the Hezbollah-controlled southern suburbs of Beirut<\/a>, signaling further escalation.<br \/>On Feb. 28, the U.S. and Israel started the war, which has killed thousands of people, mostly in Iran and Lebanon, as well as 13 U.S. service members.
