Please review our   \t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"\/\/auburn.edu\/privacy\">Privacy Statement<\/a> for more information.  \t\t\t\t<br \/>Learn about our history, traditions, community and leadership.<br \/>Begin your Auburn journey here.<br \/>Find programs, tools and resources for academic success.<br \/>Explore the real-world solutions we help discover.<br \/>Discover practical knowledge and research-driven solutions.<br \/>The winners of the Clayton Recording Arts Honors included (from left to right) grand prize winner Jack Sears and finalists Anna Colson, Syler Stone and Walter Lloyd. <br \/>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luckymanstudio.com\/don-and-alexandra-clayton-recording-arts-honors\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Don and Alexandra Clayton Recording Arts Honors<\/a>, a juried competition for contemporary student musicians at Auburn&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luckymanstudio.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lucky Man Studio<\/a>, is serving as a real-world launchpad for aspiring recording industry talent &#8212; for both students onstage and behind the scenes.<br \/>Thanks to the <a href=\"https:\/\/wire.auburn.edu\/content\/philanthropy\/2024\/09\/230900-recording-studio.php\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">generous support of alumnus Don Clayton,<\/a> a successful entrepreneur and life-long musician, the competition has provided endless experiential learning opportunities for winner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/1GvPp8PmwM\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jack Sears<\/a>, the three finalists and the <a href=\"https:\/\/cla.auburn.edu\/music\/future-students\/programs-of-study\/bachelor-of-arts-in-music\/minor-in-music-business\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">music business minors<\/a> working for Blue Wire Music, the in-house label team that focused on artist development and marketing support for the artists and their music.<br \/>From the <a href=\"https:\/\/cla.auburn.edu\/news\/articles\/lucky-man-studio-names-don-alexandra-clayton-recording-arts-honors-winner\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announcement of the winners<\/a> in January until the label&#8217;s release party in April, the Blue Wire Music students worked across public relations, marketing and creative strategy to craft promotional plans to support the commercial releases for all four vocalists.<br \/>&#8220;The Clayton Awards created an exciting opportunity to engage our music business minors, who formed Blue Wire Music to support the four artists with marketing, PR, branding, analytics and video content,&#8221; said Jennifer Bohler, an adjunct instructor in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cla.auburn.edu\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">College of Liberal Arts<\/a>. &#8220;They worked alongside the artists from photo shoots through music release.&#8221;<br \/>The Blue Wire Music team included (from left to right) students Emma Claflin, Kathryn Danley, Callan Elkins, Ariel Wright, Sam Key and Turner Wood.<br \/>As the top winner, Sears recorded a three-song commercial release through the Lucky Man Studio label, fully produced, marketed and distributed, while runners-up <a href=\"https:\/\/wire.auburn.edu\/content\/ocm\/2025\/07\/210830-anna-colson-upcoming-music-superstar.php\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anna Colson<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theplainsman.com\/article\/2025\/12\/encouraging-human-connection-student-musician-walter-lloyd\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Walter Lloyd<\/a> and Syler Stone each earned a professionally released single. The result? All four student artists now have polished portfolio pieces ready for streaming platforms and audiences beyond campus.<br \/>The Blue Wire Music team members also gained professional experience while working with photo, video, design and analytics to develop each artist&#8217;s visual concepts and cover art, all of which was designed by <a href=\"https:\/\/cadc.auburn.edu\/design\/programs\/graphic-design\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">graphic design<\/a> students in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cadc.auburn.edu\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">College of Architecture, Design and Construction<\/a>.<br \/>The team included students from across campus: <a href=\"https:\/\/harbert.auburn.edu\/degrees-programs\/undergraduate\/majors\/management.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">management<\/a> major Emma Clafin, <a href=\"https:\/\/harbert.auburn.edu\/about\/academic-departments\/business-analytics-and-information-systems.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">business analytics<\/a> major Sam Key and <a href=\"https:\/\/harbert.auburn.edu\/degrees-programs\/undergraduate\/majors\/marketing.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">marketing<\/a> major Kathryn Danley from the <a href=\"https:\/\/harbert.auburn.edu\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Harbert College of Business<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cla.auburn.edu\/cmjn\/public-relations\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">public relations<\/a> major Ariel Wright and <a href=\"https:\/\/cla.auburn.edu\/cmjn\/film-media-studies\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">film and media studies<\/a> major Turner Wood from the College of Liberal Arts and <a href=\"https:\/\/humsci.auburn.edu\/hosp\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hospitality management<\/a> student Callan Elkins from the <a href=\"https:\/\/humsci.auburn.edu\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">College of Human Sciences.<\/a><br \/>Through their day-to-day work, they learned about the broad legal, financial and ethical challenges shaping today&#8217;s music industry.
