Across his more than 3,000 talk show episodes, Stephen Colbert has interviewed just three celebrity guests who were \u201cso attractive that he found it distracting.\u201d
During a special reunion episode of Strike Force Five<\/i><\/a>, the podcast hosted by network TV\u2019s five late-night five hosts, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, and John Oliver, Colbert was asked to name the guests he found most attractive.
\u201cI\u2019ll tell you who I did not expect to be wildly attracted to. I didn\u2019t know what to do with myself,\u201d began Colbert, 62, on the Wednesday episode taped after the group\u2019s appearance on The Late Show<\/i><\/a>. \u201cI like this person\u2019s work, but I never thought of them as a bombshell,\u201d he said.
\u201cI could not\u2014I didn\u2019t know what to do with my eyeballs when Michelle Williams was on for the first time.\u201d
The five-time Oscar-nominated actress, known for her work in Brokeback Mountain <\/i>and as Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn<\/i>, made her first appearance on The Late Show<\/i> in 2016.
\u201cShe sat down across from me, and I went, \u2018F—. What is wrong with my head? I cannot\u2014I better not look directly at her for this entire interview,\u2019\u201d Colbert admitted. \u201cThere was something about her vibe, her face, everything.\u201d
Meyers, 52, who had interviewed Williams, 45, in 2019, nodded in agreement.
Williams was not the only actress to leave Colbert in a daze during their interview.
\u201cI used to have a Rachel Weisz problem. I\u2019ve recovered,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen Rachel Weisz would be on The Daily Show<\/i>, I would leave the building for fear that I would say something stupid to her.\u201d
\u201cI was afraid I would stand in the hallway and go, \u2018Hi. You were great in The Constant Gardener<\/i>,\u201d he said, pretending to fumble his words.
Weisz, 56, joined The Daily Show<\/i> three times during Colbert\u2019s tenure on the show, and numerous further times on The Late Show<\/i>.
\u201cHas it been weird to find out that this whole time you were her type, based on who she had?\u201d Kimmel quipped, referencing Weisz\u2019s husband, Daniel Craig, and previous partner Darren Aronofsky.
Colbert named one final actress that always caught his attention during interviews: Rebecca Ferguson.
Meyers quickly agreed, \u201cI will say a great interview, great interview.\u201d
\u201cBecause she brings game,\u201d Colbert confirmed of the Dune<\/i> actress.
The four late-night hosts still poked fun at Colbert\u2019s open admiration for the actresses, however.
\u201cThis is not a surprise,\u201d Colbert corrected, referencing his wife of more than 30 years, \u201cEvie knows all this.\u201d
\u201cWho is hers?\u201d Kimmel asked.
\u201cEvie doesn\u2019t have a TV show,\u201d Colbert quipped back. \u201cI think it\u2019s me. I think it\u2019s probably me.\u201d
\u201cWho\u2019s Evie\u2019s Rachel Weisz?\u201d Kimmel persisted.
\u201cWhat? Why would she need one? She has me,\u201d Colbert joked. \u201cI don\u2019t understand. I don\u2019t like the implications of this.\u201d
Colbert finally relented, naming Andrew Garfield.
\u201cHe\u2019s so attractive,\u201d Colbert, who even kissed Garfield, 42, during their 2017 interview<\/a>, said.
\u201cDid he do it hanging upside down dressed as Spider-Man?\u201d Kimmel asked.
\u201cNo, but we did get our fingers tangled in each other\u2019s hair,\u201d Colbert said. \u201cIt was really nice.\u201d
