Glasses, for example,\u201d he tells <em>Fortune<\/em> editor-in-chief Alyson Shontell. \u201cIt\u2019s very natural, because if the AI understands what we say, what we hear, what we see\u2014glasses are very close to our senses.\u201d<br \/>He later adds: \u201cSo one of the features of 6G of course, is the need to have a network where everything that I see can get streamed to the cloud at a very high performance and high speed. Readability improvements, <\/span><a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/newsletters\/2026-05-10\/apple-plans-macos-27-design-changes-latest-on-ios-27-visionos-safari-wwdc-26-mozuaz9m\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/newsletters\/2026-05-10\/apple-plans-macos-27-design-changes-latest-on-ios-27-visionos-safari-wwdc-26-mozuaz9m\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\">according to <em>Bloomberg<\/em><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400\">. Tweaked transparency effects so that icons and controls aren\u2019t presumably fighting with what\u2019s beneath them. And hopefully more polish so the \u201cunified visual theme\u201d is a bit more, well, unified.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-weight:400\">The effort to clean up the operating system\u2019s visuals parallels another to fix what\u2019s under the hood in a reported attempt to address known issues, tighten up code, and unlock performance improvements (e.g. longer battery life).\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-weight:400\">It all comes mere months after the departure of Apple design executive Alan Dye, who led user interface design before jumping ship to Meta. His successor, Stephen Lemay, is known for his \u201cattention to detail and craftsmanship,\u201d <\/span><a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/daringfireball.net\/2025\/12\/bad_dye_job\" href=\"https:\/\/daringfireball.net\/2025\/12\/bad_dye_job\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\">per longtime Apple observer<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400\"> John Gruber\u2014a very necessary attribute at this point in the development cycle.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-weight:400\">Apple has long oscillated between \u201cnew stuff\u201d updates and \u201cclean up\u201d updates and it\u2019s very much looking like its next Mac operating system will be the latter. Cheers to that. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight:400\">\u2014AN<\/span><\/i><br \/><span style=\"font-weight:400\">We\u2019re all familiar with Nvidia, the world\u2019s most valuable company, Nvidia the gaming darling turned AI trailblazer, Nvidia the canary in an AI boom coalmine.\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-weight:400\">But what about Nvidia the AI investor?<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-weight:400\">Eagle-eyed readers surely have noticed that the Silicon Valley chipmaker has been dropping increasing sums of cash on companies \u201cup and down the AI infrastructure stack,\u201d <\/span><a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/05\/09\/nvidia-embraces-ai-investor-topping-40-billion-in-equity-bets-2026.html\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/05\/09\/nvidia-embraces-ai-investor-topping-40-billion-in-equity-bets-2026.html\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\">as <em>CNBC<\/em> puts it<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400\">, in an effort to bolster its own AI chip business.\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-weight:400\">A strategically sound move? No doubt. Given the general boom-times of AI, though, it\u2019s also a highly lucrative one.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-weight:400\">By the news channel\u2019s count, Nvidia has made more than $40 billion in such investments this year alone. Last week, its deal with data center operator IREN gave it the right to invest more than $2 billion in the company. A day before that, a deal with Corning gave it the right to invest more than $3 billion in the historic glassmaker. Last month, it put $2 billion into chipmaker Marvell. And its $5 billion investment in Intel <\/span><a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2025\/09\/18\/nvidia-intel-5-billion-investment\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2025\/09\/18\/nvidia-intel-5-billion-investment\/\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\">last September<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400\"> is now worth an estimated $25 billion.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-weight:400\">Critics have called such moves \u201ccircular financing\u201d because companies like Nvidia are investing in companies that buy its chips and lease its compute. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the notion was \u201cridiculous\u201d in the wake of Nvidia\u2019s $2 billion investment in CoreWeave earlier this year; others are less defensive about the tactic.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-weight:400\">One surefire way to find out? Wait for the AI bubble to burst. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight:400\">\u2014AN<\/span><\/i><br \/><span style=\"font-weight:400\">Sunnyvale\u2019s Cerebras Systems is reportedly planning to boost the price of its initial public offering.<\/span><br \/><a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/transactional\/cerebras-raise-ipo-price-range-150-160-demand-surges-sources-say-2026-05-10\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/transactional\/cerebras-raise-ipo-price-range-150-160-demand-surges-sources-say-2026-05-10\/\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\"><em>Reuters<\/em> reports<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400\"> that Cerebras is considering a new IPO price range of $150 to $160 per share, up from $115 to $125. It\u2019s also reportedly considering selling another two million more shares\u2014for a total of 30 million\u2014than it originally planned.\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-weight:400\">Add it all up and the AI chipmaker would no longer be raising $3.5 billion, but $4.8 billion. (Calling Benjamin Braddock: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight:400\">I want to say just one word to you, one word: AI.)<\/span><\/i><br \/><span style=\"font-weight:400\">For the unfamiliar, Cerebras makes high-performance AI processors. You can think of the company as a David to Nvidia\u2019s Goliath alongside peers SambaNova (backed by Intel and others) and Groq (essentially acqui-hired by Nvidia). Cerebras\u2019 wares are particularly suited to so-called inference, aligning well with the general industry shift from AI model training to AI model deployments.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-weight:400\">In other words, its IPO is hot hot <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight:400\">hot<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight:400\">. Two years after its abandoned attempt to go public, Cerebras has \u201cdrawn orders for more than 20 times the number of shares available,\u201d <em>Reuters<\/em> reports.
