Indeed, <\/span>The Bear<\/span><\/em> is officially set to end after its fifth season<\/a>, which premieres in its entirety on Hulu and FX June 25, the network confirmed May 6.\u00a0<\/span>
The upcoming season\u2014which will have eight episodes\u2014will pick up the morning after chefs Sydney Adamu (<\/span>Ayo Edebiri<\/strong>), Richard \u201cRichie\u201d Jerimovich (<\/span>Ebon Moss-Bachrach<\/strong>) and Natalie \u201cSugar\u201d Berzatto (<\/span>Abby Elliot<\/strong>) learn that Carmen \u201cCarmy\u201d Berzatto (<\/span>Jeremy Allen White<\/strong><\/a>) has quit the food industry and left the restaurant to them.\u00a0<\/span>
In addition to the main cast, <\/span>Lionel Boyce<\/strong>, <\/span>Liza <\/strong>Col\u00f3n-Zayas<\/strong> and <\/span>Matty Matheson<\/strong> will also return to their main roles, with<\/span> Jamie Lee Curtis<\/strong>, <\/span>Ricky Staffieri<\/strong>, <\/span>Oliver Platt <\/strong>and <\/span>Will Poulter <\/strong>also reprising their recurring roles.\u00a0<\/span>
While this is the first time FX has officially confirmed the show will end with season 5, Jamie Lee, who plays Carmy\u2019s mother Donna Berzatto, previously shared that the chefs were ready to close the kitchen.\u00a0<\/span>
\u201c<\/span>It is the end of the show,\u201d Jamie Lee told <\/span>Entertainment Tonight<\/span><\/em><\/a> March 3 of the upcoming season<\/a>. \u201cThey've said it from the beginning. It's the end of the show. It's not me announcing any endings of anything.\u201d<\/span>
M<\/span>eanwhile, Jeremy Allen\u2014who previously starred in <\/span>Shameless<\/span><\/em> alongside <\/span>Emmy Rossum<\/strong> and <\/span>William H. Macy<\/strong>\u2014exp<\/span>lained how he\u2019s kept up momentum going into the show\u2019s fifth and final season, despite previously admitting he hit a wall acting in the Showtime series.\u00a0<\/span>
\u201cT<\/span>here were some years on <\/span>Shameless<\/span><\/em> where I felt more connected to Philip Gallagher and there were some years I didn\u2019t,\u201d Jeremy Allen told <\/span>Variety<\/span><\/em><\/a> in November 2025<\/a> of fulfilling his role in the hit show. \u201cI feel really connected to Carmy.\u201d<\/span>
What\u2019s more, <\/span>The Iron Claw<\/span><\/em> actor admitted he felt closer to <\/span>The Bear<\/span><\/em>\u2019s creator <\/span>Christopher Storer <\/strong>more so than <\/span>Shameless <\/span><\/em>showrunner <\/span>John Wells<\/strong>, considering he started on the former show as an adult.\u00a0<\/span>
\u201cThose were very separate things, kind of the story coming at me as an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old,\u201d Jeremy Allen reasoned, \u201cversus the story coming at me from Chris, who I really consider a friend and a peer.\u201d<\/span>
For her part, Ayo, who had her breakout role as Sydney when the series premiered in 2022, previously shared how much the show\u2019s longevity thus far meant to her.\u00a0<\/span>
\u201cI just love learning,\u201d she explained during an October 2025 appearance on <\/a><\/span>Late Night With Seth Meyers<\/span><\/em><\/a>, \u201cand so, to be on a show that\u2019s so supportive of that, that gives us that environment that fosters that, it\u2019s really special.\u201d<\/span>
