Wednesday (May 6) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phonepe.com\/press\/phonepe-introduces-ai-powered-integration-layer-for-merchants\/\">press release<\/a>.<br \/>PhonePe expects this tool to be especially valuable for small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) with limited developer resources, according to the release.<br \/>\u201cIntegration has historically been one of the longest phases for any merchant going live with a PG [payment gateway],\u201d PhonePe Chief Technology Officer and founder <a href=\"https:\/\/in.linkedin.com\/in\/rahulchari?trk=public_post-text\">Rahul Chari<\/a> said in the release. \u201cWe built the AI Integration Agent specifically to collapse that timeline from weeks to minutes.\u201d<br \/>PhonePe now has more than 50 million registered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phonepe.com\/press\/phonepe-reaches-50-million-registered-merchants-across-india\/\">merchants<\/a> across India. The company announced April 28 that it surpassed that milestone and that its merchant network now covers more than 98% of India\u2019s postal codes.<br \/>The company attributed the growth of its platform to a multiyear effort to simplify digital entry points for small businesses so they can more easily move away from cash-only operations. We remain committed to building the necessary infrastructure to ensure that we can achieve financial inclusion for the smallest of merchants, and they can participate in the nation\u2019s digital growth.\u201d<br \/>PhonePe said in March that it paused its plans for an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/news\/ipo\/2026\/walmarts-phonepe-says-war-has-halted-ipo-plans\/\">initial public offering<\/a> (IPO) due to geopolitical conflicts and market upheaval.
