Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk addressed the accusations and claims leveled against her in the wake of her husband\u2019s death.
\u201cI have comedians dressing up in whiteface,\u201d Kirk said, appearing to reference the comedian Druski. \u201cI have people saying I\u2019m not fit to be CEO. And I have Candace Owens claiming I murdered my husband. And the list goes on and on and on.\u201d
Kirk also revealed she planned to take some time off and spend it with her family.
Owens, who has repeatedly spoken about Kirk on her podcast, denied Kirk\u2019s allegations.
On Saturday, the White House Correspondents\u2019 Association dinner was abruptly cut short after an armed man opened fire at agents just outside the ballroom at the hotel.
Cole Thomas Allen, the 31-year-old suspect, was arrested and charged with attempting to assassinate the president of the United States.
President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance were escorted out by the Secret Service. Kirk was also seen rushing out while crying. She took to social media on Monday, saying she is \u201ctaking time to spend time with my family\u201d following the \u201ctraumatic\u201d incident.

\u201cOur country has become unrecognizable,\u201d Kirk said on the podcast.
\u201cThese people have perverted the truth to the point that they motivated the murder of my husband. They\u2019ve continuously tried to assassinate the president. And anyone who stands in their way is labeled hateful, racist, fascist and every other trigger word that is grossly dishonest.\u201d
Vance and Kirk also postponed their scheduled visit to Iowa State University for a TPUSA campus tour event on Thursday until fall 2026.
TPUSA said this change \u201cis not due to security concerns\u201d related to the recent shooting but \u201csimply a matter of scheduling conflicts,\u201d as Iowa State Daily reported<\/a>.
Kirk also apologized for missing her an appearance at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, on Wednesday night, and instead spoke to students through a video message conveying appreciation for their support.
