The official said they did not know which city in Canada would be the institution\u2019s headquarters.<br \/>Earlier, Ontario Premier Doug Ford cited a report about Canada being selected as the headquarters and pitched in a post on social media that it be in Toronto, saying it\u2019s \u201can opportunity to put Canada\u201d at the center of global defense finance and manufacturing.<br \/>\u201cAs our nation\u2019s financial capital, with a skilled workforce and unparalleled global connectivity, there\u2019s no better place for the bank to be headquartered than Toronto,\u201d Ford said.<br \/>Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney\u2019s government has said it will meet NATO\u2019s military <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/nato-luxembourg-defense-spending-military-budgets-255795eaf8fddff9a05e7b25b678bdbb\" rel=\"\">spending guideline<\/a>.<br \/>NATO countries, including Canada, have pledged to spend 5% of their national GDP on defense.
