WASHINGTON (TNND) — Last week, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to preserve the institution of college sports and restore fairness, stability and order.
The order also requests the proper governing body update rules and restore financial stability to protect college sports.
The rules include making sure medical care for student athletes is readily available, banning improper financial arrangements, and making sure there are protections against “unscrupulous” agent conduct.
“This Executive Order builds on President Trump’s longstanding commitment to showcasing American greatness through sports and recognition of its value in forging American leaders and culture,” the press release reads.
At the beginning of Trump’s second term, he signed an executive order to keep biological men out of women’s sports.
"My administration will not stand by and watch men beat and batter female athletes," the president told a room full of female athletes in February when he signed the order in the White House's East Room. "And we’re just not going to let it happen and it’s going to end. It’s ending right now. And nobody’s going to be able to do a damn thing about it because when I speak, we speak with authority.
