The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed there were no tornadoes during the Friday night storms into Saturday morning. According to an update on Sunday, the NWS determined all damage in Sequoyah, Crawford, and Sebastian counties was consistent with straight-line winds, rather than a tornado.
40/29 Chief Meteorologist Darby Bybee said that at times, there were radar estimated winds that got over 100 mph at about 2,000 ft. above the surface.
