Industry-awarded movies and new release series dominated streaming video in March, led by Peacock’s Oscar-winning Hamnet (Jessie Buckley for Best Actress), and Taylor Sheridan’s new show, “The Madison,” starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, according to new data from JustWatch.com.
With eight Oscar nominations, Hamnet was the most-streamed movie from March 1 – 31, followed by Hulu, which had three of the top five streamed movies in the month, including The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, and Ready or Not, with the sequel, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come hitting theaters on March 19.
“The Madison,” the Paramount+ “Yellowstone” spinoff, topped all episodic content, followed by Hulu’s “Paradise,” and the second season of HBO Max’s “The Pitt.”
New series bowing last month included Prime Video’s “Scarpetta” at No. 4), HBO Max’s “DTF St. Louis” (No. 5), Prime Video’s “Young Sherlock” (No. 8), and Hulu’s “Love Story” at No. 10.
Netflix’s top-performing titles included Lionsgate’s War Machine and Sony Pictures’ Nuremberg at No. 7 and No. 10, respectively, on the movie chart, and “One Piece,” at No. 7 on the TV chart.
