HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — The famed New York-based Bingo Wholesale Supermarket is planning to expand into South Florida after purchasing a large distribution center–type property in the Dania Beach area, according to a a report food industry observer Elan Kornblum.
The site is located at 5650 Anglers Ave., near Stirling Road and Interstate 95 in the Hollywood–Dania Beach area.
The property was previously occupied by a private Budweiser distributor and is expected to undergo significant renovations, according to the report.
According to online property records, the roughly 8-acre site in South Broward County was acquired in February for $16 million through Sunwise Holdings LLC, a Florida entity tied to David Weiss, a partner in Bingo Wholesale. The industrial property includes about 76,210 square feet on a 344,526-square-foot lot. The seller was Todd Stephens, according to transaction records.
Some observers say the purchase could signal a broader strategy by Bingo to establish a stronger footprint in Florida, potentially using the facility as a distribution hub to support expansion into growing Jewish communities across the state, including areas such as Tampa, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton and the planned community in Okeechobee.
No official announcement has been made regarding the specific use of the site, and the timeline for development remains unclear.
Bingo Wholesale Supermarket, known for its discount pricing model, has built a strong following in New York’s kosher grocery market and has been expanding beyond its original base.
