Mackinac County, Michigan. A semi-truck driver has been arrested following a traffic stop by
the Michigan State Police (MSP) for driving violations on the Mackinac Bridge. During the stop,
MSP discovered the driver was in possession of numerous illegal weapons and was committing
multiple additional violations.

On March 25, 2026, at approximately 6:48 p.m., a Motor Carrier Officer (MCO) from the MSP
St. Ignace Post was conducting proactive patrol on the Mackinac Bridge when a semi-truck
hauling a trailer was observed speeding and operating in a hazardous manner. The MCO
initiated a traffic stop on the commercial motor vehicle for the violations. Upon contact, it was
determined the driver had an active warrant for his arrest. The driver was taken into custody
without incident.

Further investigation revealed the driver was in possession of multiple illegal weapons and did
not have a Concealed Pistol License (CPL).
