The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has congratulated the Nigerian Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the 1447 AH Ramadan fast and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
In a statement issued by the JNI Secretary-General, Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, the Sultan described the occasion as a period for deep reflection, prayers and renewed commitment to righteous living.
He prayed that Allah accepts the fasting, supplications and good deeds of the faithful during Ramadan, while also overlooking their shortcomings.

The Sultan urged Muslims to sustain the spiritual discipline observed during the holy month, reminding them that the Almighty remains the Lord of all months beyond Ramadan.
Quoting the Qur’an, he admonished the faithful to remain steadfast in worship, stressing the need for continuous devotion and consciousness of God at all times.

He also encouraged Muslims not to forget the recommended six days of fasting in Shawwal, known as Sittah-Shawwal, which follows the Ramadan fast.

The JNI President-General further called on Nigerian Muslims to intensify prayers for peace, stability and protection from misfortunes, especially as the 2027 general elections draw near.
He urged stakeholders across the country to work towards credible, free, fair and transparent elections, noting that national stability is a prerequisite for good governance.
On global affairs, the Sultan appealed to world leaders to de-escalate the ongoing tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel, warning that prolonged conflict could have devastating consequences on global peace and economic stability.

He cautioned that war remains destructive, with far-reaching effects on human development and the global food chain, which could further worsen economic conditions, particularly in fragile nations like Nigeria.
The Sultan, however, wished Muslims in Nigeria and across the world peaceful and prosperous Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, praying for continued blessings and divine grace.
