The Black Family Wellness Expo sponsored by the Suffolk (VA) Chapter of the Links will take place on Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Workforce Development Center, located at 100 North College Drive, Franklin, Virginia 23851.
An expo news release noted that this free event is open to the public and designed to support the health and well-being of the entire family.
Hosted as part of the Links Incorporated National Impact Day of Service, the expo will bring together health care providers, community organizations and wellness professionals to deliver education, resources and hands-on services in a welcoming, family-friendly environment.
Featured services and activities include the following:
• CPR training;
• Mental health support resources;
• Children and youth wellness zone;
• Dental screenings for children younger than 12 through the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® program;
• Healthy cooking and nutrition education;
• Fun family activities; and
• Door prizes and giveaways.
The dental screenings provided through Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® will offer children younger than 12 access to free oral health screenings and education, reinforcing the importance of preventive dental care and healthy habits.
The Black Family Wellness Expo is committed to reducing health disparities, increasing access to preventive services and empowering all families with the tools and knowledge needed to live healthier lives. All are welcome to attend.
Both public attendees and vendors are encouraged to register in advance.
