Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, held a phone conversation on Monday evening.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, outlining the latest regional developments following the announcement of a ceasefire and the subsequent Iran-US talks in Islamabad, warned about the dangerous consequences of US provocative actions in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz for regional and global peace and security.
The Russian Foreign Minister, emphasizing his country’s principled position in condemning the US and Israeli regime’s military aggression against Iran, called for the United States to be serious in advancing the diplomatic process aimed at restoring peace and security in the region.
The foreign ministers of Iran and Russia stressed the need to continue bilateral and multilateral consultations and to utilize diplomatic capacities to establish peace and stability in the region.
