WASHINGTON (TNND) — A man who is accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail at the home of Sam Altman, OpenAI's founder, in San Francisco, was opposed to artificial intelligence, according to court documents. The documents also showed that the man had a list of other AI tech company executives.

Authorities allege that Daniel Moreno-Gama threw the cocktail around 4 a.m. Friday. The device set an exterior gate at Altman’s home on fire before Moreno-Gama fled on foot, police said. Less than an hour after setting Altman's gate on fire, Moreno-Gama allegedly went to OpenAI’s headquarters and threatened to burn the building down.
FBI Director Kash Patel announced on X that the bureau had conducted an operation in Texas in connection to the attack.

Moreno-Gama has been charged with possession of an unregistered firearm and damage and destruction of property by means of explosives.
When he was arrested on Friday, officials found a document on him that shared his opposing views on "Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the executives of various AI companies,” court documents say.
The criminal complaint states that Moreno-Gama wrote of AI’s purported risk to humanity and “our impending extinction."
