COLT — The Colt Community Development Corporation’s 32nd annual Chicken and Dumpling Day is this Saturday at the William Stone House in Colt.
The house will be open for tours as you pick up your meal Saturday.
“If you’d like you can tour through the house. We have all kinds of displays in the house. This house, built in 1884, is on the National Register of Historic Places which we are really proud of,” said Walter Meals of the Colt CDC. “The Trail of Tears goes right in front of the house. They came through Colt, Arkansas. At that time, it was Taylor’s Creek.”
The proceeds will go toward the upkeep of the William Stone House.
Carryouts will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday or until they run out. It’s $8 per plate.
