A Hollywood drone innovator’s surprising journey to Pentagon contractor, on the frontlines of the Ukraine war, where drone technology and military innovation are reshaping modern conflict.
This mini doc follows Brian Streem, a former drone cinematographer who worked on projects from the Fast & Furious franchise to Cardi B music videos. Now, this Hollywood drone innovator is working on the frontlines.
Streem is the founder and CEO of Vermeer, a drone-manufacturing company. The New York Times Magazine recently profiled Streem, which highlighted his company’s military innovations in artificial intelligence and drone technology.
Award-winning documentary filmmakers Petra Epperlein and Michael Tucker aka pepper&bones produced this mini doc in partnership with IGA. They are the creators of “Gunner Palace” and “The Army We Had.”
This post is part of Independent America, a research program led out by Jonathan Guyer, which seeks to explore how US foreign policy could better be tailored to new global realities and to the preferences of American voters.
