Parents in Greater Cincinnati are raising concerns regarding reports of artificial intelligence being used for pornographic material.
Mason City Schools sent a letter to parents on Tuesday, as the district works with police to investigate possible pornography.
Officials said there are multiple investigations that have been started, looking into the possibility of students using artificial intelligence to create pornographic material.
A Mason police report obtained by WLWT lists a teenager as a suspect who has been charged with 51 counts of pandering sexually oriented content involving a minor, which is a felony in Ohio.
Police said that teenager was arrested and the case is going through the juvenile court system.
WLWT is working to learn how many students could be involved.
“While we cannot comment on specific situations, please know that when concerns are brought to our attention, we take them seriously. Our administrative teams work in partnership with our safety personnel, prevention and wellness staff, and, when appropriate, law enforcement to thoroughly investigate and respond. We are also committed to supporting any student who may be impacted,” a letter from Mason Schools to parents said in part.
