Norwich University gets $500K to help Vt. towns with cybersecurity, AI tools – WCAX

NORTHFIELD, Vt. (WCAX) – The Norwich University Applied Research Institutes received a half-million-dollar congressional earmark this week to help Vermont towns operate more efficiently.
The institute aims to help local governments with cybersecurity. The funding will create the Community Response Empowerment Toolkit, which allows local leaders to use artificial intelligence for scheduling or budgeting.
“Our goal really is how can we use existing data without putting a burden on the infrastructure to make it more efficient, and at the end of the day, that will result in a greater savings across the board,” said Brian Bradke of the Norwich University Applied Research Institutes.
The Northfield Police Department will be the first organization to test the new program.
