USMNT goalkeeper Patrick Schulte replaces Roman Celentano on March roster – USA Today

The U.S. men’s national team has made a roster change ahead of March friendlies against Belgium and Portugal, with Patrick Schulte replacing fellow goalkeeper Roman Celentano.
The move, per U.S. Soccer, was “to avoid a potential injury risk” for Celentano, who was kept out of FC Cincinnati’s 4-3 win against CF Montreal on Sunday.
There was no further update on Celentano’s health issues.
In Celentano’s place comes Schulte, another Ohio-based MLS goalkeeper. The Columbus Crew man has made three appearances for the USMNT since making his debut in 2024.
Schulte will join three other goalkeepers on the USMNT roster: Chris Brady, Matt Turner and presumed starter Matt Freese, who has started the past 12 games for the national team.
The USMNT will face Belgium on Saturday, March 28 at 3:30 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and will then take on Portugal on Tuesday, March 31 at 7 p.m. at the same venue.
