WEBSTER, N.Y. — Around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, the Webster Police Department said they responded to a domestic dispute and mental health crisis at a residence on Glen Edith Drive, ending with two officers being taken to a local hospital for evaluation after being involved in two separate car crashes related to the response.
Webster police told us that one of the patrol cars was involved in a car accident in the area of Gravel and Ridge roads while responding to the domestic incident on Glen Edith Drive.
Local responders tended to the driver and officer but neither were taken to a hospital by ambulance, the officer was taken to a local hospital later on for precaution, police say.
When other officers responded to the residence, a man attempted to drive away, crashing into an occupied police car, the report says.
The driver eventually went off the road and got stuck going up a hill when he was arrested by police, the report mentions.
No major injuries were reported, the man was taken for mental health evaluation.
The investigation is ongoing.
